Didn’t watch any films this week

I will tell a story though, I tutor this 13 year old kid (in Vietnam, I’m in Vietnam now lol) and I give him homework which is
1. Write 100 words
2. Some grammar shit
3. Watch a film and tell me about it

The film I gave him yesterday was

Raiders of the Lost Ark was his assignment. He loved it, he got all excited and so did I because the reason that I give him these assignments as well as living vicariously is because of films like this. The film is only about 90 minutes long, and something happens in every scene.

There’s a weird thing with modern films, they spend a lot of time doing nothing so you can look at your phone.

Fuck it I’m going to watch it lol

So to sum up the plot as he recounted it to me

He’s an explorer and his best friend runs away and then dies. He steals the statue, then his rival steals it.

He goes to America and is a teacher

Then he goes to Nepal and the Nazis fight with him and they steal his girlfriend

Then he goes to egypt, and they find the treasure

I interjected that the monkey dies.

I also didn’t mention the amount of cool stuff that happened in Egypt like the swordman, the huge nazi, the baskets.

I did have to remind him about the snakes and the staff that showed him where the ark was

Then they go to an island and everyone dies and they put the treasure in a warehouse.

I mean, kind of lol.

I mean, I’ll make the facile point that I made to him, then I’ll rant, I have two beer left in the fridge.

So that films is pretty short which is what I was on about, like you watch modern films, they have breaks built in, they are talking about the plot in an office as if anyone gives a shit

This sucks. I will do better tomorrow
