In China ‘Going Home’ by Kenny G was played in every bar, mall, restaurant, shop when they were closing from 09 – 15. I doubt that he got the money he should have for billions of plays, but for a few generations of Chinese that saxophone music means ‘you have 120 bars of sax noodling to finish your business and go. that’s like 1 in 3 human
There is something weird, it’s like everyone complains about AI, which is fair, but as if this ‘ok but shite’ thing just appeared overnight
And that is probably what I do to be honest. Like let’s not be snobs, we are not getting any turtles named after us when we die.
I always wondered about that kind of middle of the road. Like a couple of people I know are into that, I don’t mind cheese on the radio or whatever, but to make the effort. It must be true that loads and loads of people have made that their night, pay hundreds way in advance, drive to one of those big horrible venues, queue up, sit in a plastic chair for 4 hours listening to this mediocre stuff.
Yes I am a snob, but no I don’t think I’d even do that for something cool so maybe it’s my problem. I’d prefer to see someone rubbish in a bar, and
yes sometimes it’s actually good and you keep going back to the bar and it’s never good.
right well there you go. Here is a band I saw when I actually did do that and I still remember him going ‘Oxygen is worthless’ and me going ‘that is so cooool’
Can’t find the song, but this is the sort of crap. The point is, this is music people do live in pubs
Err, great point
