Ok I can’t go on, I must go on
Almost there. Personal note about the album, this is the only one that I didn’t like when i t came out. I have only heard it once. I can’t believe it was released in 2011 I thought it was around 2016
Everyone ripped on it when it came out because he did that video with the silly dancing in the hat. And just generally, I think because Radiohead kind of sounds the same. I mean even as a guy who defends them sticking to their taste and not crowd pleasing, like by this point the world had moved on and they felt a bit behind the times. Like Burial was making these records that sounded like listening to radiohead on a bus and I mean it was fine, but really, was it going to just be another album with synths and then lovely guitars that were a bit 90s?
Let’s find out. this album is actually new for me because most of them I have caned but this one I kind of ignored
Bloom
So it’s bleeps and weird drums. I like it although I disagree with the drums. It makes me want to be high. I think that he wants to be bjork, and maybe for non english he is, but for an english guy, bjork is a weird witch from the end of the world, and he is a guy from the nice bit of england.
This is a nice song though, although I disagree with the drums, like i think i get it, it’s meant to be weird but also relaxing, but it’s not. it’s a bit like Jazz Club from The Fast Show.
Now everything is out of time, this is aggravating already. And I really don’t want to be that guy, but like Ok Computer it starts of with An Airbag Saved My Life and it’s this big rock monster song with pipes firing hot water everywhere, this is this out of time song. up your game
Feral
This is brilliant lol. like they are doing the same thing properly. it’s the same offness and weirdness, but it’s also relatable because it sound like a breakbeat song.
This is the good messing around. Oh I can tell I’m going to be annoyed by this album lol
I like this one, like you could play this out and people would love it in the middle of some fun songs. I guess you are on album number 6 or whatever, it’s like my writing about it, you just kind of don’t care, like listen or don’t. I liked that song
Staircase
They are just taking the piss, like calling a song staircase, and the same drum loop. sorry, I’m upset.
This is low effort radiohead. gaydiohead more like
what was i doing in 2011? It may have been one of the best times of my life. I just got together with a girl who I would marry, still regret fucking that up and ind it hard to fancy women because like to get with someone like that at 45 would be way more effort just to divorce her again.
She went to study in Rotterdam and she brought me over so I spent a semster and a half in Holland teaching a couple of Japanese people who I knew English, coaching her mates with English language and being her wife.
At this time I loved Lana Del Rey and The Strokes, I was really upset that Amy Winhouse killed herself and I was listening to lots of dubstep and post garage which is still what I like
Supercollider
Didn’t work. I have a VPN where some YouTube doesn’t play. I’ll live
Little By Little
More boring stuff. This is a real phoned in album. Like it’s still that beat, which is good, but only once. The Oasis song called Little by Little is loads better, oh what a comedown. I’m actually angry at this point, I have spent a lot of effort on Radiohead and this is so lazy and boring.
Like they got all of these plaudits because instead of just doing ok computer they did weird songs. Then they just make this shit, just do rock songs
Morning Mr Magpie
I remember this song because it’s funny how he just goes ‘you’ve got some nerve, coming round here’
This is just not very good. They are bored. It’s like the third Strokes album which I actually like, but they clearly don’t, like it’s really boring. It is weird how it must be boring being a rock star. I do understand it more at my age, like pussy and coke is not that much fun as an adult and it costs way too much on your soul and body, but you know, like I keep getting bored of music and then I just learn something else, and I am not even good at any instruments, like you can just do what Damon Albarn or DJ Rupture did and go and hang out with Africans or Brazlians. Like usually the music is not great, but they always seem to have fun, this is quite a sad album
These Are My Twisted Words
Ah now we are talking lol. Intelligent Grunge. Grunge central. Grunge Hill.
I really do not like this album at all. I just counted and there is still another 45 minutes of it. It’s boring as shit.
You know this happened with films, like I thought it was me, but then when Dune came out, those films are like 2 and a half hours and I never got bored for a second. The first one I checked my watch when he was training knives with Gurney and I was like ‘wow half an hour?’ and then they all got wiped out and they were in the desert with Stilgar and I needed a wee so I checked the time and it was like two hours in
Dune 2 I didn’t even think about having a wee because everything is perfect. I watched it at home twice as well as the cinema and didn’t even have a wee at home.
The Butcher
So you know what a lot of people don’t get about Dune, if you don’t read the books it’s not really in the David Lynch film or the Vileneuve films. Like they tell you but it’s not thematic
Like Paul is the Messiah, but it’s not magic, the Bene Gesserit witches were trying to make the Messiah for hundreds of years, and their plan was to make someone that they control, like the galaxy was colonised and he was meant to be the means of control, but they messed it up because the Artreides treated Jessisca well and she went along with the whole honour and stoicism, and that created this disaster where the actual messiah was superpowered but there was no big plan. so what happens after the end of Dune 2, and they are meant to make a film but god knows how they will, Paul destroys the galaxy and just becomes really ill because of the weight of himself,
Lotus Flower
Aye great, more of the same
So I didn’t really understand the final Dune book and that is probably me because although I read and enjoyed Dune books I didn’t really get my head around it until the new films. I’m not stupid but I have quite limited understanding and I didn’t really get it without seeing the film and then listening to it explained. Like I just react to themes I am very emotional.
But the Messiah book which is going to be number 3, Paul is middle aged and he has won every war easily, and there are all of these plots against him by the empire and they are trying to trick him, but it’s impossible because he has the power to see the future, and the book is mostly about what it means to see the future.
Codex
I actually do love this song. That was a long stretch of shite right there, this is a great song. It sounds like drowning. I am actually going to do a song with that weird sound effect on piano chords. it sounds great.
Noone gets hurt
It’s all kind of the same theme hehe. like you could play this song over Dune and it would work. Dune is like Radiohead, like there are not correct answers there are a lot of questions. When he sees the future it’s not one it’s loads, but they all have horrific consequences.
They didn’t make a hue thing about it in the film, but when they take that poison if they survive they see the future and it’s a terrible curse.
God isn’t the imagination great. Evn this rubbish, it’s fun in a way
Give Up The Ghost
I like this, and yeah man, like listen to the use of synths here. it just makes the guitar so much better
Ah Radiohead, why did you put me through all of that shit before?
I dunno. This really is their worst album, it’s just boring
Separator
Is this on me? I am in a mood, I like this but I know it’s going to drag on and be boring. I like tht break. Like this album would probably be good if it was 40 minutes long, like a good album, what the hell was up with them?
Like this album nobody liked it, he did a video where he was doing jazz dancing in a silly hat. Then the next album as I remember is really about loss and Thom Yorkes wife died in real life died. Is this just some kind of crisis.
I guess it’s also weird being them because like they are 10 years older than me, so they are 40 and life suddenly happens at 40, like nothing makes sense, probably even if you are a millionaire rock guy, you are still a real person
Ok here we go, now we’re cooking. fookin radiohead and depression. we’re stompin now
The Daily Mail
Someone talked to me on Messenger and I didn’t listen
This album really was not good. It was really long and boring
For context. The Strokes did that comeback album in 2011 which was half them doing cool pop music that sounded like The Strokes and then half of it making cool New Wave Music that sounded like New Order only they were The Strokes, so the Strokes who just stopped after 3 albums because it was just repetetive, came back and did a better album than Radiohead who were just being Radiohead, more like GaydioDead
Remember there was a pop band called Gay Dad? and people pretended they were good because they were funny
Indie rock is so shit lol
