HOW DARE YOU!!!

how very dare you

Just writing this to keep it alive. The guy who set this up and his partner have both been inspirations to me writing about a to be honest crap football club and crap shops, and turning it into these beautiful essays that get into philosophy but not in a high falutin way, they just highlight stuff that makes you think ‘What’s it all about?’

what’s it all aboot like?

So anyway, this is an escapist blog about music and films and that, I’m going to post a song that I made with an American comedian talking over it, but I’ll also share some ideas and thoughts. It’s on bitchute not YouTube for boring reasons.

I was born in 1980 and when I was youngster it was the End of History era, it was hard being a Socialist, Capitalism was doing great and crazy as it sounds, the protests that I attended as a youth were about unfair working conditions in Asia, it was an innocent time.

Although the world seems worse now what with everything going wrong, I do feel that it will get a bit worse and then get better. The story in the video if you watch it is from the next generation after me and it’s funny, but I don’t think that it’s true. As well as the collapse of capitalism, we are seeing the rise of socialism in the youth.

the left can’t meme either

I am much better at jokes than politics, this is just a ramble. But people are just more aware, it’s not for nothing. I don’t have kids, but my friends with kids are always impressed by how aware they are, way more than my generation.

A lot of this writing is just me learning to write again to be honest, I used to write loads as a youngster but then because of the internet I got into writing 20 words. So I have given you a song, I will give you a poem as well. My landlord TangerineBreem has promised that he will start writing on here soon, he’s actually good at it

Calais

Calais, before the refugees

It was just an awful town that smelled of fish

They would sell you an awful coffee

And be pissed off at your for buying it

It was never going to make them rich

They used to get pissed off

Because the hated English set up cigarette shops

Everywhere

Thwarting their chance of ever being a place you would ever be in by choice

Now they are multicultural, in the 21st century

There are Algerians and Pakistan and Syria

All wanting to be anywhere but Calais

Progress

I posted this then I realised that I didn’t talk about Greta and why she is in the title. I was not that impressed with her big speech to be honest, but the fact that she is still a target of the right is what I was on about. It was very performative and she did turn out to be a stage kid, but she does also represent something that just terrifies the ‘bad guys’.

It’s completely true that it was a thing our generation knew and asked for, and now 20 years later we are still under this system, and ok fine it survived until us GenX/Millenial/GenWhy whatever got old, but it’s ending, and the amount of damage that is being done to pretend that it’s ok is horrific on both sides of the argument.

There is this weird thing that the far right are doing where they are trying to pretend that the British Empire started in Rome in 300BC. Like there were not any big changes it was just the guy worked out that you could use coins instead of swapping a fish for a pair of trousers and then white people were sorted and that’s how we took over the world.

See, better at jokes than music or politics. That’s all. Another pic and I’m Audi 5000

it was like this when I arrived

oh and by the way as an afterthought about my poem. Boulogne which is just down the road from Calais is lush. Nice old town and full of great cafes. Or it was
