So we land in this country, this place, this world. Everything is finished, cynicism is over, cynicism is not cool.
Abroad has failed. The west has really failed. They are a joke, a clown country, a failed state
Our Neighbours have some hope, but we know deep down, they are us. They will fail. They have this brief optimism, but the are us, they can’t win, they just can’t, they are amateurs against professionals
The East took it too far. They became professional, and opposed us, but then they just became the professionals.
The root of Amateur is ‘do for love’ there is no ‘ama’ or ‘amore’ in what they do. They are just doing what we do only in a clever way.
There is no optimism or love in this place, everything is dead and corrupt, it’s all empty systems repeating, so what do we do?
We do a little. We teach, we create, we write, we bitch and we moan, we enjoy films. We enjoy little bits here and there. We meet people. We learn. And we overcome.
And it means nothing. To the books, but to us, it is all that we have
Do we tolerate? I mean will it ever be fair? I doubt it. I think that it is all achievable.
As a young man, I had a real moral compass and lots of ideals, of course, like the world should be this way, and it won’t make sense, but it should be.
But then you get older and you realise that everything is failing and it’s children doing everything and you have to kind of fix what is here, but you become a collaborator, a cog. I left and I am still a cog.
There are answers though. Stupid shit
Cook food
Draw
Make music
Write
That kind of hippy shit. And no it is not. Art is what everyone is inspired by and it will come from that. There will be a someone who reads or sees or hears something and it twists their mind, and they change it.
There is a fundamental that I learned from knowing a few of the political people, I was never in a group, I did have mates in groups, and groups did a lot, and then I heard that there were some quite hardcore groups, but come on now, non of them had dynamite.
But what I learned was that we are building towards a future
